Qualifications and experience necessary:

  • Possess one to two years experience teaching French or English as a second language, with an excellent knowledge of the methodology of teaching these languages, and an awareness of the difficulties that may be encountered during instruction.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in at least one of the following domains: teaching languages, education, languages and French or English literature, linguistics, sociology, journalism, political science, law.
  • Have an excellent mastery of the language to be taught, with a detailed knowledge of its syntax and underlying principles, and a rich vocabulary.
  • Knowledge of the fundamental principles of andragogy.
  • Understanding of the requirements of linguistic levels A, B and C and the exams of the Public Service Commission.
  • Demonstrate great flexibility when passing from one language level to another.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and a strong aptitude for working as part of a team.
